International Peace Cooperation Assignment in Angola

The United Nations Angola Verification Mission II ( UNAVEM II ) observed and verified the presidential and legislative elections held in Angola on September 29 and 30, 1992. Japan dispatched three election observers, one each from the national government, local government, and private sector, to assist this mission. The Japanese observers were paired with an observer from another country, and they worked together in their assigned area for checking any dual voting or election disturbance, monitoring the voting situation, etc.
